Our goal is to provide access
to information, instruction in it’s use, and collaboration to maximize
learning so as to create lifelong learners who are effective users of
information.
To fulfill our mission, the Media Center staff will:
Create a warm
and welcoming environment that fosters inquiry and an appreciation of
literature.
Provide
instruction and guidance that creates a love of reading in all students.
Teach
research skills and the use of technology so that students are able to find,
evaluate and use information throughout their lives.
Instill in
students the importance of the ethical use of information and intellectual
freedom.
Collaborate
with classroom teachers on lessons and the use of resources so as to maximize
learning.
Provide a
current, diverse, quality collection which is well organized and incorporates
the interests of students, the school curriculum, and the home community.
Ensure that
the collection contains a well-rounded variety of print, audio/visual, and
electronic resources.
Foster a
reciprocal relationship with community members and businesses, especially
public and academic libraries.
Act as the
hub of the school community for students, faculty, staff, and parents.
