Construction Update

Hello,

My name is Tom Shade and I will be the Construction Coordinator of the West Frederick Middle School Renovation/Modernization and Additions Project. There will be a removal and replacement of the majority of interior finishes, mechanical and electrical systems as well as 20,000 sq. ft. of the project.

There are four major components of the project.

1) Modular Classroom Unit Installation

2) Low Voltage Site-Wiring Relocation

3) Furniture and Equipment Moving

4) Construction of the Renovation/Modernization and Additions

Also, I will develop an informational handout to distribute to the students periodically for them to take home. It will include more specific details and be displayed on the website as well.

Stage 1 of the construction is scheduled to begin around July 1, 2008 and be completed by August, 2009. This will include all three levels of the classroom wing.

The modular classrooms are scheduled to be completed by June 1, 2008. We need to have all items packed and ready to move by June 20, so the moving of the furniture and equipment to the modular classrooms can begin on Monday, June 23.
