Picture of school guidance counselor Mrs. Sarah Barbour

Meet your school counselor:

Mrs. Barbour, or Mrs. “B” as some of our students like to call her, is a graduate of UMBC and McDaniel College. She lives in Hagerstown, Maryland with her husband, daughter, and two dogs, Georgia & Ella. Mrs. Barbour interests include learning more about family systems and working with children who have experienced trauma.

Waverley’s Guidance Program:

Waverley’s Guidance Program is geared towards educating children on the interpersonal skills they will need to succeed in adulthood. Classroom Guidance Lessons are taught on topics such as Conflict Resolution, Responsibility, and Respecting Differences. Small Groups are an integral part of the counseling program, and give students an opportunity to learn from each other that may help students manage difficult situations in their lives.

The counseling office is a great place to look for community resources. If your family is in need of a support, please let Mrs. Barbour know. She can assist you in connection with various resources and contacts that may help you.
