Media Center Mission Statement

        Our mission is to create effective users of ideas and information, to promote the appreciation of literature, and to encourage lifelong learning.

 

Media Center Vision

          The Media Center Program is essential to the education of the students at all grade levels.  Our vision is to:

      • implement an instructional program emphasizing information literacy skills that is integrated with the content curriculum

     

      • develop instructional partnerships in all curricular areas to facilitate learning

     

      • promote reading and the appreciation of literature as lifelong activities

     

      • provide a hub of learning for staff and students in developing skills in understanding, using, and producing media in various formats

     

      • create a diverse collection of information resources (print, non-print, and electronic) that support the curriculum as well as student interests

     

      • provide a welcoming atmosphere that is conducive to learning and working for all users

     

      • organize materials and resources for effective use

     

      • be a leader in the community of learners by remaining informed of changing curricula and developments in technology.
