Thursday Folder #19
Congratulations to our American Legion Americanism Essay contest
winners: First Place, Richard Doney and Second Place, Hailee Grimes.
These students will be recognized tonight at the Thurmont American
Legion.
The Catoctin High School Astronomy Club will present “A Night With the
Stars” tonight beginning at 6:00 in the auxiliary gym. The high school
students run stations for K-8 students to do numerous "space crafts and
games", meet with NASA personnel, examine moon rocks (yes the real
thing!), see a planetarium show by Cosmic Connections, and learn about
the use of telescopes and backyard astronomy from individuals from
TriState Astronomers. There are prizes, NASA goodies, and who could have
an event without a space creature petting zoo!
Good luck to our TMS Show Choir who left today for competition in Myrtle
Beach, South Carolina.
Please join us on Tuesday, April 22 for our Book Buddies Celebration at
6 p.m. in the TMS cafeteria. A Silent Auction to benefit Book Buddies
will be held during our spring musical May 16-17. If you are able to
donate handmade items, a gift certificate for food or a service, baskets
or any other appropriate items, please contact Mrs. Jernigan at
240-236-5155. Thanks!
