Committees and Committee Chairpersons

If you are interested in helping or chairing any of the committees listed or would like more information, please contact Nancy King, NDKing3@verizon.net 

Box Tops: * Collect Box Tops for redemption. Encourage family participation through publicity.  August – March

Colorfest Parking Coordinator: Schedule parents for money collection at parking lot entrances one day only, October 13, 2007.

County Council Representative: Attend PTA County Council meetings in Frederick and present report at local meeting. Monthly. 

Cultural Arts: * Schedule 2 assemblies for student body. 

Hospitality: Provide refreshments for various events such as back to school night, general meetings, etc. Varies.

Membership: Organize PTA membership drives, complete and distribute cards. Host information table at Back to School Night, etc. September - March

Newsletter: Compile articles written by officers and committee chairs. Quarterly. 

Parent Involvement: Coordinate Donuts for Divas/Dads and other events. Varies.

Publicity: * Promote activities/events sponsored by PTA throughout the community. Varies

Reflection: Promote participation and coordinate submission of student works for this nationally sponsored competition that encourages creativity. November, December, February.

Staff Appreciation: Coordinate dinner for teachers during conferences. Organize a luncheon during Staff Appreciation Week. September, December, March, May.

Volunteer Coordinator: Organize the registration of volunteers and disseminate volunteer information to teachers and committee chairs. Track and report hours to county PTA.

Sunshine: Send cards of concern/congratulations to families and staff. Varies.

Ways and Means: Organize fundraiser, coordinate delivery to parents and track payment for product. Varies.

Monthly meetings are held the second Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. in the teachers’ lounge.  Meeting dates are subject to change; however, the tentatively scheduled dates are as follows:
