Health Room News: If your child did not pass the vision and
or hearing screening at school, they will be bringing home a letter this
week. Please take this letter with your
child to the eye doctor (or pediatrician if they did not pass the hearing
screening). Have the doctor fill out the
bottom of the form and return it to the health room. This way we can notify your child’s teacher
if any special accommodations need to be made. Please contact the health room
if you would like assistance finding a doctor who takes your insurance or you
do not have health insurance for your child at this time.
MSA: The TES students did an awesome job on the MSA
assessments. Our students were focused
and on-task and attempted to do their best work throughout the past few weeks.
School and individual results should be available during the last week of school.
I’m very proud of all of the TES students for all of their efforts. Thank you to the PTA for providing popsicles
to all students for their hard work!
MSA Science:
Now that the LA and Math portions of the MSA are completed, it’s time to
start thinking about the Science portion of MSA. Please note that all 5th grade
students will be participating in this year’s MSA Science Assessment. Please
avoid scheduling appointments, taking vacations etc., during the testing window
(April 23-May 13th), as all 5th grade students are
required to take this assessment.
Outstanding Safety Patrol: Congratulations to 5th grader
Jacob Cool! He was nominated for the AAA outstanding safety patrol award. He
received a Shining Star Award and a
binder full of school supplies. Thanks
for all of your efforts, Jacob. We are very proud of you. J
A Night with the Stars: This
upcoming event is sponsored by the CHS Astronomy Club. This
is the 2nd event and it looks to be the best! The First Night With The
Stars brought nearly 300+ K-8 students and their
families to learn about the space sciences and have a great time. The Astronomy
Club high school students run stations for the K-8 students to do
numerous "space crafts and games", meet with NASA personnel, examine
moon rocks (yes the real thing!), see a planetarium show by Cosmic Connections,
and learn about the use of telescopes and backyard astronomy from individuals
from TriState Astronomers. There are prizes, NASA goodies, and who could
have an event without a space creature petting zoo!
This event is FREE (thanks to PTSAs sponsors and other contributions) to
all. Please see the attached flyer for additional information.
Teacher
Appreciation Applications: It’s not too late to nominate a TES teacher for the
Teacher of the Year Award. Please see
the attached application and consider nominating one of our Outstanding
Teachers for this award.
Picture Packets: Please return student picture packets if you
are not planning to purchase photographs.
If you are planning to purchase a portion or the entire pack, please
send in the payment and unpurchased portion of the packet. Thank you for your immediate attention to
this matter.
