Rules of the Hunt
Objective: Students will read 60 books in a variety of genres and a variety of text types.
Dates: November 1, 2007- March 31, 2008

Begin your Reading Treasure Hunt by clicking on the pirate icon to the left. This will take you to the first treasure map!

Ahoy Mates click on the pirate to get card 1.

Print card 1 (or pick it up from your teacher) and begin reading. Remember you must read the correct type of book on each line. It is your choice with in each category. Write the title of the book you read on the line.

When you have filled in all the books return the card to your teacher. They will turn it in to the reading room and you will get a prize and a secret code.

You will then need to click on the poem on each map. A window will pop up. Here you will enter your secret code and move to the second map. You may have to disable your popup blocker for this to happen.

Each time you turn in a card you will receive a new secret code. This will allow you to move through the 10 treasure maps and complete the program. It will be important to keep your codes as you will need all of them each time you move forward. If you do not have Adobe Reader you can click here to download. You will need this to open up your cards.

You should pace yourself and try to complete 2 cards per month. This will help you stay on course and find the treasure by March 31!
