Pen Mar Park is well known for its spectacular view of "The Great Valley" from High Rock (as seen above). But when passing the park closer to the base of the mountain it may be hard to imagine this area as a once thriving site for tourism. The Western Maryland Railroad brought many visitors here in the late 1800's and early 1900's to see the views, enjoy the amusements, and dance under the pavilions. Examine the sites below for further information and images of this beautiful area.
