FCPS POLICY ON PORTABLE DEVICES
“FCPS regulation prohibits the use of portable electronic communication devices during the school day and during bus transportation.  Students are required to keep such items completely turned off and concealed in their book bag or lockers and are prohibited from taking unauthorized photographs of others.”  FCPS Calendar Handbook 

Please tell your children to NOT call you or text you from their cell phone during the school day.  They must be powered off and out of sight at all times during the school day and on the school bus.  We will allow them to use an OMS phone if they need to contact you.

 OMS cell phone consequences for having the phone out during the school day are:

1^st offense – phone taken, student may retrieve the phone in the main office at the end of the day

2^nd offense – phone taken, student may retrieve the phone in the main office at the end of the day after a parent has been contacted

3^rd offense – phone taken, parent must pick up phone in the main office

4^th offense and beyond – phone taken, parent must pick up in the main office and further consequences given
