Providing Children and Families with Comprehensive Services Under one Roof

Judy Hoyer’s dream and her life’s work were to improve the lives of young children. Through the Judith P. Hoyer Foundation and the Maryland Department of Education thousands of young children’s lives, and their families’ futures, have been shaped and enhanced through the work of The Judy Centers, which were named in her honor.

The Judy Center here at Hillcrest Elementary is a place where the needs of families are met through many different agencies. Our goal is to improve school readiness and success through early intervention and assistance to families. We work with a dozen different agencies in Frederick County to insure that our children come to school ready to learn. In addition, we offer quality childcare for working parents, all day and year-round, for children who are enrolled in our morning Pre-K classroom. Family Literacy Nights are also offered on the 3rd Thursdays of each month.
