We enjoyed having
many parents join us for the Thanksgiving lunch as well as the Muffins for Mom

Market
Day
Thank you for your
Market Day order this month! We are looking forward to seeing you when you
pick up your order on 11/23 between 7p - 8p. We will be in the gym as
usual. If you have any questions, please call Vicki Kline at
301/607-8748.
From the Cafeteria
Does your child
have a food allergy that you would like the cafeteria staff to know about?
Please send in a
note from your doctor stating what foods the child has an allergy or
intolerance to. The cafeteria staff needs the official documentation to
come from a doctor to be eligible to enter this information in our computer
system. This could be for those students that are lactose intolerant,
require gluten free diets, or has intolerance for specific foods. If your
child has an Epi Pen for a severe food allergy, that
information has already been shared with the Cafeteria staff. If you have
any questions please contact Sue Goundry, Cafeteria
Manager at 240-236-3415.
“Toys for Tots”
GVES will be collecting donations starting Mon. Nov.16 through Mon.
Dec.7. Place your new, unwrapped toy in a bag with your homeroom teacher’s name
on the bag. There will be a bin in the front lobby of the school with a red bow
for donations. The homeroom with the most donations will win a cookie party and
a GVE $20 class buck.
Birthday Book Club
Reminder!
If
your child’s birthday is in the month of November or was in August,
September, or October, now is the time you may purchase a book from the
library media center’s Birthday Book Club shelf in honor of his/her special day. Your child may select a
book from the Birthday Book Club
shelf in the library and a note will be sent home about the title and cost. You
will send a check for the amount of the book and then a special label will be
placed in the book to indicate it was bought in honor of your child’s birthday.
He/she will be the first one to check it out, and when it’s returned it will be
available for others to borrow.
Children
with summer birthdays may participate during the month of their half birthday
or any other time it is convenient for you. If you have any questions, please
call Ms. Gattens at 240-236-3411.
