Reflections: “Wow!”

The National PTA Reflections Program is an arts recognition and achievement program.  Students may submit works of art in the following areas: literature, musical composition, photography, dance, visual arts, and film/video.  Works must be inspired by this year’s theme, which is “Wow!”  What an awesome theme!!

Artwork will be collected in mid-November so there’s still plenty of time for your child to create something great.  A ‘request for information’ flyer was sent home a few weeks ago.  Please return that to school if your child is interested in participating, and I will send home the guidelines along with an entry form.

If you have questions or are interested in helping with the program, please contact Tina Flynn.  301-865-4548    dan-tina.flynn@comcast.net

REMINDER

Please remember to save your BOXTOPS and drop them off at school!  THANK YOU!

Birthday Book Club Reminder!

Once again we are offering the opportunity for you to donate a book to the GVE Media Center during the month of your child’s birthday! Your child may select a book from the Birthday Book Club shelf in the library and a note will be sent home about the title and cost. You will send a check for the amount of the book and then a special label will be placed in the book to indicate it was bought in honor of your child’s birthday. He/she will be the first one to check it out, and when it’s returned it will be available for others to borrow.

If your child’s birthday is in the month of October now is the time you may participate in the library media center’s Birthday Book Club. Children with summer birthdays may participate during the month of their half birthday or any other time it is convenient for you. If you have any questions, please call Mrs. Booz at 240-236-3411.
