Breakfast

Breakfast is served each morning beginning at 8:10a.m. and ending at 8:30a.m. in the school’s cafeteria.
· When school is delayed one hour, breakfast will be served.
· When school is delayed two hours or more, breakfast will not be served.

Lunch

· Children have the choice of buying a variety of meal items each day as they go through the lunch line.

Please note: The school has set a limit of 2 snacks per child per day to ensure that studnets are eating their lunch and not just snack food.

If the need arises and a child has forgotten their money or their bag lunch, they may charge their lunch. Students are expected to pay their lunch charge the following school day. Until that charge has been repaid, the cafeteria will only serve the student a bologna sandwich and a cup of lemonade.

It is suggested that you consider putting a certain amount of money on account in the cafeteria, so that your child does not carry money daily. To do so, send a check made out to the Emmitsburg School Cafeteria. (Please indicate if this check is for meals only or for meals and snacks.)

School menus come home at the beginning of each month in the blue folders.

Free and Reduced Meal
Program

Free and reduced meal applications will be sent home during the first week of school. It is essential that all families who qualify complete the application and return it to school no later than October 1st.

A large amount of funding for our school staff and programs depends on the number of students who qualify for the program. Even if your child does not eat school lunches or is in PK, please complete the form if you believe you will qualify. Thanks.

Please help all of our students by completing the application and returning it to school as soon as possible. (The number of students who qualify by October 15th determines our funding for the following year.)
