Communication

In an effort to keep parents informed of children's progress and school happenings, a blue folder will be sent home daily with students' work and other necessary school and teacher communications. Please read the contents of the folder carefully. Sign your name in the appropriate box and return the folder each day.
It is your child's responsibility to see that the homework and other information are in his/her folder and brought home daily. It is your responsibility to check, and sign the folder contents daily. It is the teacher's responsibility to check the folder when it is returned to school.
We at Emmitsburg Elementary School are committed to maintaining open lines of communication.

Please note: School satff may not search students' bookbags for note's, so please be sure that they are placed in your child's blue folder.

Families are encouraged to contact teachers and staff to discuss any items or concerns. Teachers are on duty from 8:00 until 3:30 each day, but time to communicate with parents differs for each teacher. Please keep in mind that during arrival and dismissal times; teachers are actively involved with students and preparation of lessons. In addition, teachers are directly engaged in instruction throughout the day. Consequently, we ask that you do not interrupt the teachers or the students during the day. Instead, call, send in a note, or e-mail, and teachers will be glad to get in touch with you!
