We want to know: How satisfied are you with our school? Please take the quick, online* survey May 5 – 19. It’s easy! It’s anonymous! There is no need to print or mail anything.

- Click on the survey icon on the home page (English or Spanish)
- Complete the survey, click “submit”, and you are done!
Need computer time? Check with our school office for times to take the survey here if you don’t have computer access at home. Or visit a public library near you.
Please remember the May 19 deadline! At FCPS, parents count. Your support goes a long way in building a first-class school system. Please see the newsletter sent home with each student today regarding this survey.
*Schools also have some paper versions in English and Spanish for parents who don’t have Internet access.
Volunteer Appreciation Celebration
Deer Crossing volunteers are part of the mosaic that compliment and support our school. Our volunteers are a key component in our daily work with children. You enable us to do far more for children than would otherwise be possible. We value and appreciate your time, talent and dedication. Race Day Volunteers Needed on May 31!
The Deer Dash 5K Run/Walk and One-Mile Fun Run is fast approaching, and we are in need of lots of assistance for this community event that is benefiting our school. Please review the following volunteer needs and let us know if you can assist:
Race Pointers: Along the course, we will need volunteers positioned to point runners in the right direction. (8:00 – 9:30 am)
Traffic Directors: We’ll also need folks to direct traffic at several points along the course. (7:45 – 9:30 am)
First Aiders: Medical personnel needed to staff first aid table. (8:00 – 10:00 am)
Fun Run Leaders: A spirited group of adults is needed to lead the one-mile fun run. (9:15 am – 10:00 am)

We extend a BIG THANK YOU to Dena Borchardt for organizing girl scout troops to coordinate and assist with our water stations along the course.
And, don't forget: Early registration deadline is this Friday, May 9. Please register by May 9 to guarantee a race t-shirt and to receive discounted prices. Attached is a registration form with the course map.

Deer Dash 5K to Feature Used Book Sale
We will be having a used book sale in the gym on May 31, during the 5K race. We will sell children's books as well as adult books. We will start collecting books this week. Please put your used books in the designated box outside the school's front office. If you have any questions, please email Kathy Buckwalter at bucksnell@comcast.net.
