Reflections Theme Announced
The theme for the Reflections art contest for the 2008-09 school year will be "Wow!" This theme will be very easy and exciting for our students to capture through their artwork. You can have your child complete his/her artwork over the summer, if you so desire. The artwork can be in any of the following categories: photography, literature, visual arts, music, dance, or film/video production. Projects will not be collected until the beginning of November. Enjoy the summer, and encourage your child to capture any "Wow" moments!
OMS Needs You
Oakdale Middle School recently installed PTA officers for the 2008- 2009 school year. All board positions are filled except that of Treasurer. If you have children in OMS, please consider helping in this role. The OMS PTA is run on a smaller scale than that of DCES so your time commitment is much less than with the DCES PTA. Newly elected OMS officers are all current or former DCES parents:
Kelly Barger - President
Kim Weitzig - Vice President
Wendy Jump - Secretary
County Delegate - Mark Koehler
Teacher Appreciation Committee - Elaine Kestner
Teen Dance Committee - Rochelle Bell
If you would like more information, please call Kelly Barger 301-865-1393. Thank you.

Brady Car Wash Results
On Saturday, June 7th, Deer Crossing Teachers hosted a car wash at the school to benefit TEAM BRADY! Brady Long, a former DCES student, was diagnosed with a brain tumor in February. We would like to thank the community for coming out to the car wash! We raised $1,700.00 at the car wash to benefit Team Brady! We had approximately 40 staff member assist with the car wash, some donated supplies to wash cars, or for the bake sale and 25 staff members came out on Saturday to wash cars! We could not have pulled off such a fantastic event with out the help of our community! Thank you for your continued support!
