Spirit Wear—Apparel Deadline TOMORROW
Don’t miss this opportunity to stock up on DCES Spirit Wear.  This fall spirit wear campaign has two components: the first part is the apparel wear. Order forms are available in the lobby and on the website. The deadline for the apparel wear is this Friday, November 21 at 1 p.m.  Any forms received after this date will be returned. The second part is the sale of the DCES lanyard and fleece blanket. The blanket and lanyard order will be due on Tuesday, December 2 at 1:00 p.m. Click here to access the order form.

Please note: The 5th grade signature shirts will be part of the Spring Spirit Wear Campaign that will be held in March.

Market Day
Don’t forget to place your Market Day orders. Forms are due by December 11. Online orders (www.marketday.com) are due by December 12.  Items must be picked up at DCES on Thursday, December 18 between 5:00 and 6:00 p.m.  Please contact Amy McChesney at 301-865-5079 for more information.

Reflections Art Show
The Reflections Art Show will be held on Wednesday, December 3, 2008 from 7-8:00 pm in the DCES cafeteria.  All projects will be displayed, and ribbons will be awarded.  Please plan to attend this special event sponsored by the PTA.  Refreshments will be served. 

Deer Dash Planning Meeting
The next Deer Dash planning committee meeting will be held Thursday, December 4th from 7:15-8:30 in the cafeteria.

Let’s Fill the Food Bank Shelves
The Linganore feeder schools will be providing a Thanksgiving meal to over 40 families in our community.  DCES is collecting canned corn and canned green beans.  There are boxes in each hallway to collect donations. Please feel free to add other non-perishable food items if you desire.  This food drive ends November 24. This is the first project sponsored by the new DCES Student Ambassadors.

Holiday Adoption
The Holidays are fast approaching!  With the changes in the economy this year many families are feeling a financial stress.  During the year various organizations contact our school to inquire about assisting families during the holidays by providing food and gifts.  The generosity of these organizations can ease some of the financial burdens of raising a family.  If you are a family that could benefit from receiving some holiday assistance this year please contact Miss McFadden, DCES School Counselor, at 240-236-5943.   If you know a family in our community that could use some help during the holidays please pass this information on to them.

Families are identified by numbers not by names.
