Hospitality Committee Needs You!!
The hospitality committee is looking for volunteers! This committee is responsible for providing DCES staff dinner or lunch on conference days and for coordinating Teacher Appreciation Week. Our volunteers provide food, drinks, and various other items as needed for these events. We also need individuals who would be interested in setting and cleaning up for conference meals. These meals and events are very much appreciated by the staff. The meals at conference times are a nice way to thank our teachers and staff for all of their hard work and allow the staff to enjoy a nice meal before their conferences. If you would like to help, but are unable to prepare food, there are many other ways you can assist us. When we have an event, we simply e-mail our requests out to our list of volunteers. By signing up for our e-mail list, there is no obligation to help out. Here’s another great way to help Deer Crossing. Register your Giant club card at www.giantfood.com to enroll in their A+ Bonus Bucks program. By indicating DCES as the receiving school, your purchases will earn rewards for DCES. Our code number is 03460. Please note that you need to update your registration annually, so if you’ve enrolled in previous years, please take a moment to update your account.
Reflections Art Contest—“WOW!”
The Reflections program is a National PTA art contest. The theme for 2008-09 is "WOW!” Please encourage your child to participate. Every participant at DCES is a winner! The art project can take the form of a painting, colored picture, story or poem, photograph, song, dance, or film production. Projects are due on Monday, November 17, 2008 before school. All students are encouraged to participate in this exciting contest. Encourage your child to capture a "WOW" moment through an artistic masterpiece! Have fun!
Fall Fundraiser-Deadline Approaching
The PTA fundraiser is off and running. This is a great way to help the PTA raise money to offer programs and activities for our students. We have additional copies of the Currents order forms on the table outside the office. All orders are due by October 6th. Don’t forget to add sales tax of 6% to all orders.

Movie Night
Our first Movie Night was a great success. We had over 75 family members attend. Thanks to Jeannine O’Connor for organizing the event. Thanks also to Traci Stupp, Michele Aucht, Laura Hughes, Celeste Scarzello and Stephanie Napier for helping the event run very smoothly.
