Mission and Vision Statements
As previously noted the mission of the Crestwood Middle School Library is to
"teach information seeking skills and the love of reading to produce lifelong learners"
The vision of how the media staff will try to accomplish this is to:
1) provide a warm and inviting environment to make the library a welcoming place for the educational community
2) teach students research skills to make lifelong learning a reality3) practice the higher level thinking skills of analysis, synthesis and evaluation in regards to the information they locate
4) help students become comfortable and competent using a variety of technologies
5) collaborate with teachers to improve student success in all fields
6) encourage students to read for the pure love of the written word
7) be involved with parent organizations so they are an active part of the learning community
8) make the library the center of the school for students, teachers, parents and community members
