3rd Grade Spring News!
What a great time we are going to have with our Life Science Unit! Everyone
(barring a few teachers :) is excited about the critters we will be
actively learning about and experimenting with! Don’t be surprised
if your third grader asks you for an anole as their next pet!
As the year winds down we are still encouraging the students to give
100% into their work, including homework. We know many of our students
are active in sports, dance and other activities. It is important to
set a small window of time so your child can work quietly on homework.
It is this time of the year that we get into the heavier subject material
such as division and fractions, and we really need the kids to do their
part and study at home! This way they will have a leg up on their fourth
grade subjects.
We are so impressed by the readers and writers we have in 3rd grade
this year. It is amazing how much progress they have all made. They
are turning into 4th graders right before our eyes! Don’t forget
that bookmarks are due every week until the end of the year. Your child
should be reading a minimum of 10 minutes a night.
As the year comes to a close we want to thank all the parents for being
active participants in their child’s learning! With great parents
such as yourselves, we can continue to work as a team in the success
of your child’s education.
Remember your child still loves being read to. This summer would be
a great time to “share” a novel with your child. Have a
great summer and remember to read, read, read!
