My name is Tammy Woodward, and I have been teaching at Thurmont Elementary School since 2000. For the first six years here, I taught fourth grade, and now I am working as a full-time Targeted Reading Intervention teacher. I taught in Allegany County Public Schools for three years as a Reading Specialist and another private Christian school in Frederick County for six years before coming to Thurmont Elementary. I really enjoy working with students and helping them develop a love for reading!
It is a pleasure to serve the Thurmont community because it reminds me much of the small hometown in whichI grew up in Virginia. I attended college at FrostburgState University where I received a Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Elementary Education and a Master’s degree in Reading. I am currently attending Regent University where I am pursuing studies in school and community counseling. In my free time, I enjoy READING, traveling, hiking, and eating at international restaurants.
