I was born in Parkersburg, West Virginia, and raised in Clarksburg, West Virginia. After graduating high school, I served in the US Air Force for four years in North Dakota, South Korea, and Virginia as an Administrative Specialist.

After being discharged, I worked for the CSX Railroad from 1977-1982. I then attended Fairmont State College in Fairmont West Virginia, graduating in 1986.

I moved to Maryland and taught at Sabillasville Elementary School until 1993. I have been teaching at Thurmont Elementary School since 1994.

My hobbies include reading, racquetball, tennis, and golf anywhere at anytime!
