WHO WILL KISS A PIG? WHO WILL GET DUNKED?  You may have heard the chatter amongst your kids as they are spending their Cougar Cash voting for our top 5 staff members…who will it be?  Mrs. Krietz, Mrs. Kerr, Mr. Oman, Mrs. Baker or Ms. Luketich?   The winner will be announced on May 16th beginning at 2:00.  Following the “Kiss a Pig” contest, several staff members will subject themselves to the Dunking Booth!  Admission to these events is a mere $5.00 in Cougar Cash!  Ask your children how much they have and how they plan to spend their money!!  The Cougar Cash Cart will remain open as well!  Students earn Cougar Cash for showing ROAR behaviors (Respectful, Orderly, Academic, and Responsible.)

VOLUNTEER BREAKFAST:  We will honor and celebrate our wonderfully dedicated volunteers on May 22nd at TPS.  If you are a volunteer, and have not yet received your invitation, please call the front office.

REPORT CARDS:  Fourth term report cards will be distributed on the last day of school. (June 13th) If your child has an unpaid lunch charge or missing text or library book, fees will need to be paid in order to receive the report.  You may call the cafeteria and speak with someone about lunch charges.

ATTENDANCE INFORMATION: At our recent attendance meeting while reviewing data, our team was pleasantly surprised that TES had a 96.0% attendance rate for the month of April.  Students were allowed to wear their favorite sports attire to celebrate this accomplishment. Our April Hoops classroom winners were Ms. Band’s class and Mr. Jone’s class.  Both classes celebrated by playing basketball with players from Catoctin High School. Please remember to send in a note with your child, when he or she is out sick.

TOYS: This is just a reminder that students are not allowed to bring in toys from home to use during recess or on the bus.  This includes balls, cards, game boys etc. We’ve started a collection of items that are brought to school that are not permitted. Parents are requested to come to school and pick up these items.  Thanks for your help.

READING INCENTIVE: Our Reading Incentive Program has been a

GREAT success this year! TES has read a total of 13,580 books since

October, the start of the program!  Thanks to the PTA for providing the monthly awards and prizes for our students! The PTA made it possible for

any student who read at least 10 books each month to receive a prize and those students were entered in a drawing to receive a TES READSbigger monthly prize. Congratulations to all the students who have been reading and congratulations to all of our monthly winners! Remember KEEP READING!  Stephanie Straw, Reading Specialist
