What is PBIS? PBIS stands for Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports. This is a school process endorsed and implemented by the combined efforts of the Maryland Department of Education, Johns Hopkins University, Sheppherd Pratt Mental Health Systems, and local school systems and schools. By developing our school as a PBIS school, we will join other FCPS schools and thousands of schools across the nation who are currently participating in the PBIS process. Research in behavioral management (and common sense) clearly shows that having 3-5 simply and clearly stated rules helps students function well in school. These rules will be emphasized school wide using the morning announcements, posters, and by all staff. The TES school rules are:
