In order for a large student body to arrive and leave from our campus safely, we need the cooperation and courtesy of all students, parents and guardians.  With increased enrollment we ask for your patience as many new families become familiar with the arrival/dismissal procedures at Centerville.  There are three designations for students:  bus riders, car riders and walkers.  Students arrive and leave from three different areas of the building.  If there is any variation in your child’s transportation, you must write a note to the teacher.  This information will be forwarded to the office.  Any unexpected changes must be called into the office no later than 3:00 p.m.

Walkers

• All walkers will arrive through the Recreation Room door located on the bus loop side of the building.
• Please use one of three sidewalks from Carriage Hill Dr. at the stone pillars closest to the entrance (NOT the main car rider entrance at the front of the building).

• Walkers will be dismissed to the blacktop behind the gymnasium located past the Recreation entrance.
• Fourth and fifth graders will be dismissed from their wing and the portable classrooms first followed by grades 3,2, 1 and K
• We recommend that you designate a place outside to always meet your child.  With a large number of walkers, having a consistent place to meet will be reassuring to your child

Note:  If you drive your child to or from school but you park off campus, your child is considered a walker.

Car Riders

• Students are considered car riders only if their parents/drivers are at the front entrance, in their vehicle, cued up in the flow through lane. 
• Students may be released by their parents on the passenger side (right) of the vehicle, when they are in “park” against the curb.
• Please pull up as far as possible to allow for the maximum number off cars in the flow-through lane
• Cones are set up to prohibit cars from passing.  Please respect this safety measure.
• Students should enter/exit on the passenger’s side only.
• Please do not get out of your vehicle to retrieve your child
• If you are parking in the front lot to attend to school business, please use the crosswalk. 
• Students must be accompanied by a parent/guardian when crossing from the parking lot the main entrance

Bus Riders

• As buses arrive, they will be announced on the loud speaker several times.  If a student misses their bus, they are to return to their classroom and the teacher will call home. 
• If a student does not get off at their stop or gets on the wrong bus, the driver will bring them back to school
